And Then There Were Four by Nancy Werlin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I love Nancy Werlin and this mystery grabbed me from the first page! Five teens are called to a meeting via email about The Rockland Academy Student Leaders Club and what begins as a meeting turns into a nightmare as the building implodes. Everyone escapes but there is something not right and Antoine believes his mother may be responsible for the deliberate explosion. As he explains to all of the others why he believes this, the other 4 want to believe him, but why are they all involved? That is revealed all too soon when Antoine's brakes fail and he is killed. But Caleb was in the car with him and after hiding out in the woods, his friends come to find him and what begins is a fast moving suspense novel I could not put down!!! I loved all the teen characters and despised most of the adults/parents in this thriller. Werlin really keeps the pressure on the characters as they hide, try to stay safe, but solve the mystery of who wants them dead. I rooted for these teens to triumph in more ways than one, especially Caleb with what he went through with his father. Teens who loved Werlin's Rules of Survival, The Killer's Cousin. Black Mirror and Double Helix will all be clamoring to read this spine tingling mystery!
