A Calamity of Souls by David Baldacci

A Calamity of SoulsA Calamity of Souls by David Baldacci
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Awesomely Narrated byDavid Baldacci, MacLeod Andrews, Sisi Aisha Johnson, Kiiri Sandy, Cary Hite, I loved the lawyer team of Desiree DuBos & Jack Lee as the band together to represent a black man in 1968 in Virginia. Each of these characters were compelling and their odds in a southern town of getting an innocent man free had me listening all the time. I would love to see this continue as a series, highly recommended!

True Colors by Kristin Hannah

True ColorsTrue Colors by Kristin Hannah
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Many thanks to Donna Compton for this fantastic read!. The Grey sisters have a special bond growing up; and it is rocked when life gets in the way and sisterly love is tested again and again. The love story
between Vivi Ann and Dallas was my favorite part but I did not like it tore everyone apart. But Hannah's storytelling had me turning those pages, with suspense growing as the years go by. This is a great read and I loved the ending!

Thick as Thieves by Sandra Brown

Thick as ThievesThick as Thieves by Sandra Brown
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A real suspenseful novel which owes so much to the awful character of Rusty Dyle, evil, dishonest, and certifiable! Enter Ledge Burnet, one of Rusty's victims and later, Arden Maxwell, who might blow Rusty's life of corruption wide open. But this story begins back in 2000 with the theft of $500,000 and a night where people die and disappear. Then chapters bring the reader back to the present, and it is one suspenseful twist after another. I loved this story but I really hated Rusty and how he spent a blackmailing and stalking people. Highly recommended!

I loved this 7th ad final (?) book in the series! Amos Decker has a new partner and his memory is not what it used to be. There is a murder of a judge and her bodyguard and of course, as Amos delves into the murder he is confounded by the scene. But Amos will not stop until he solves this page turner! Highly recommended!

All the Sinners Bleed by S.A. Cosby

All the Sinners BleedAll the Sinners Bleed by S.A. Cosby
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I could not put this book down!!! Seeing it on all the book lists, a black sheriff in the town he grew up in- Titus is a formidable law man, having a background of years with the FBI, when a beloved teacher is killed in a school shooting. But as the suspect (Titus is very familiar with him as a law man but grew up with & played football with his father) gives himself up; he says strange things that give Titus pause; and then his deputies shoot him. This opens up a lot of trouble for Titus in a Southern town that tight holds on past prejudices; when the truth comes out after finding evidence in phones, too many do not want to believe the teacher is a murderer and pedophile. I could not stop reading this book; I will definitely be reading S.A. Cosby's other books!!!

The Mystery Guest (Molly the Maid, #2) by Nita Prose

The Mystery Guest (Molly the Maid, #2)The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The 2nd of the Molly the Maid series has Molly's love away visiting his family, when a mystery writer event at her hotel goes wildly wrong. Once again the police think Molly is involved & as Molly tries to help the new maid in training, Molly realizes she must dig deeper---into the past; because she & Gran worked for Mr. Grimthorpe, the writer when she was a child. There is a Present & a Past chapter as Molly delves into the past and the why, who, and what of Grimthorpe and his life. Another winner, Molly and Mr. Preston are my favorites, but I really did miss her love interest, looking forward to his return in a 3rd book:)
