Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica

Local Woman MissingLocal Woman Missing by Mary Kubica
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Narrated by: Brittany Pressley, Jennifer Jill Araya, Gary Tiedemann, Jesse Vilinsky, I listened and did not enjoy the mystery aspect of this audiobook. I loved the narrators but the constant repetition of thoughts, words, etc. found this listener longing for the resolution which I thought took too long to finally get to! I just did not find many characters believable and the mystery was just too bizarre. The plot was not believable to me.

Play Dead (Andy Carpenter, #6) by David Rosenfelt

Play Dead (Andy Carpenter, #6)Play Dead by David Rosenfelt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I LOVE the Andy Carpenter series---especially the dogs! being involved in the mystery as Andy rescues a dog, Reggie, who was supposed to have died 5 years ago and then plunges into representing the dogs' owner who is in jail for murdering his girlfriend and throwing Reggie overboard during a storm at sea. Laurie, the love of his life comes for a visit since she is in law enforcement elsewhere, and his many friends, Willie & Sondra, Pete Stanton, his computer wiz friend, scary but awesome, Marcus, his newspaper friend and his friend in the FBI all jump in to help Andy who is a great lawyer but a wimp when it comes to danger kept me turning the pages. Good old Tara, Andy's golden retriever, gets along great with Reggie. Moving right along to the next book in the series, New Tricks!

The Man Who Died Twice (Thursday Murder Club, #2)The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this 2nd book in Thursday Murder Club series! After Ibrhaim is badly beaten and robbed by 3 teens, his 3 friends will not stop until this crime is solved and their friend is forever changed. I could not stop turning the pages, laughing and rooting for these seniors...and the many new characters---police, and grandsons!

We Keep the Dead Close: A Murder at Harvard and a Half Century of SilenceWe Keep the Dead Close: A Murder at Harvard and a Half Century of Silence by Becky Cooper
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Becky Cooper's ten year investigation into the murder of Jane Britton was thoroughly investigated. A thick tome the reader thoroughly investigates Jane 1969 murder, about Harvard and the anthropology dept and police cover-ups.

Funeral for a Friend (Jonathan Stride #10)Funeral for a Friend by Brian Freeman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book, Jonathan Stride, Serena and Cat held me spellbound, turning the pages, and finished in one day! Freeman's plot was suspenseful, with many overlapping stories of deathbed confession, a stalker, an unsolved murder, and a rape. I loved the rich characters, the villains, the creeps and the investigations of Serena and Maggie. I hope this is not the final Jonathan Stride book; he has become a favorite investigator of mine! Highly recommended!!!

The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

The Naturals (The Naturals, #1)The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, if you love the Barry Lyga books about serial killers, Libba Bray's The Diviners, and Ripper by Stefan Petrucha, Acceleration by Graham McNamee, you will totally love this book!!! The title is great too; the teens who are Naturals can read emotions, profile people (killers), etc. Cassie is a natural at profiling people, her mother was a psychic and trained Cassie until she was murdered five years ago. After living with relatives and not really feeling the love; she is approached by the FBI to become part of their Naturals team that helps solve cold cases. But when bodies start turning up that mimic her mother's murder, Cassie and the Naturals jump in to try and stop the next murder, will it be Cassie? I could not put this book down. It has the perfect amount of suspense, and crazy to keep you turning the pages, it took me one day to read this book! I am looking for a sequel!
