Salt in the Wound (Lyonesse) by Sierra Simone

Salt in the Wound (Lyonesse)Salt in the Wound by Sierra Simone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this novella about Isolde who wants to become a nun but her father wants her in his company, so he arranges for her to marry a competitor. Thankfully she has an uncle who is her friend & can look out for her where her father does not! Mark Travena is awful, much older than Isolde; I do not see what he wants her for, I will be looking forward to the next book in the series!

Maybe Not (Maybe, #1.5) by Colleen Hoover

Maybe Not (Maybe, #1.5)Maybe Not by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A sizzling romance in the Maybe series by Colleen Hoover between Warren and Bridgette who is a new roommate. This novella had me laughing as Warren persisted in trying to woo nasty Bridgette, will he win her heart, or NOT?

Last Violent Call by Chloe Gong

Last Violent CallLast Violent Call by Chloe Gong
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved these two novellas with the reappearance of Roma and Juliette and tying Foul Lady Fortune with the original Chloe Gong books, The Violent Delights & Our Violent Ends! I can't wait to read the next book, Foul Heart Huntsman because the suspense is killing me about this dangerous chemical weapon that Orion's mother created---and how it manipulates people to follow commands, even killing themselves! I love the romance, horror, and sinister evil these characters fight! You will too!

The Wrong One by Dervla McTiernan

The Wrong OneThe Wrong One by Dervla McTiernan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In this novella excellently narrated by Neil Hellegers, Michael Crouch, I was drawn in by the narrators as they wove a complex mystery in this novella. A mother has been accused of murder, her son has past problems with the law, and an old detective friend of the family, Simon, wants to rescue Clara because he knows she did not kill a woman who was known as nasty and litigious. But all is not as it seems as the mystery/murder unfolds and the reader finds out more about the characters. A great listen!

The Sixth Wedding by Elin Hilderbrand

The Sixth Wedding: A 28 Summers StoryThe Sixth Wedding: A 28 Summers Story by Elin Hilderbrand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This novella takes us back to all of the particpants in a last Labor Day get together in 2023. Jake returns without Mallory, and Leland and Fray, Cooper, Link and Bess. I could do without the Ursula part. A nice quick and easy look into the lives of those we loved in 28 Summers.

The Queen (A Wicked Trilogy #3.7) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Queen (A Wicked Trilogy #3.7)The Queen by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this final book in the Wicked Trilogy! Brighton and Caden are growing closer but at what cost. Brighton finds it much more difficult to just believe they should be together; while Caden wants Brighton, will protect her at any cost, and bestows "things" on her that should make her believe she is meant to be his queen; but will Brighton herself settle into her role? I loved all 3 books in this novella trilogy; a great romance, mystery and drama--this is what Jennifer L. Armentrout excels in!

Hart and Soul by Lori Foster

Hart and SoulHart and Soul by Lori Foster
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this e-novella by Lori Foster because her SBC Fighters is one of my favorite series (I love all her other series too and stand alone novels). The fighters, like Hart, care about others as well as the regimented work and strengthening they require before matches. I loved the chemistry between Lisa and Hart; their larger than life personalities and their banter with each 0ther.

As Kismet Would Have It (Dimple and Rishe #1.5) by Sandhya Menon

As Kismet Would Have ItAs Kismet Would Have It by Sandhya Menon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this novella as the story of Dimple and Rishi's love continues to bloom but also has some confusion because Dimple hates the confines of the constructs of marriage, etc. The brothers, Rishi and Ashish were great in this book as sounding boards and I loved Sweetie's appearance too!

Crossing the Line (Pushing the Limits 1.1) by Katie McGarry

Crossing the Line (Pushing the Limits)Crossing the Line by Katie McGarry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved the Pushing the Limits series and this novella (1.1) was just so good! Lila and Lincoln have been corresponding by mail secretly for the last 2 years and as they have fallen for each other, the reader is treated to their worlds, insecurities, hopes and dreams. Next up, I am reading Red at Night which is 3.5 in the series, so excited!!!

The Lost Sisters (The Folk of the Air, #1.5)The Lost Sisters by Holly Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Not a fan of this series, Jude or now, Taryn. Taryn supposedly loves her twin Jude- but this little novella points out that she selfishly picks Locke and all his secrets over the sisterly bond.

Twelve (The Naturals #4.5) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Twelve (The Naturals, #4.5)Twelve by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh do I love getting back with the gifted teens, Cassie, Dean, Michael, Sloane and Lia. In this prequel, we find out backstories of the main characters as they rush to talk a teen off a ledge who beseeches The Naturals to solve 3 teen "deaths" she knows are murders. I just love getting back into each of the Naturals "gifts" profiling by Cassie and Dean, Lia, the lie detector, Sloane the numbers and computer genius, Michael the face reader. I especially enjoyed how Barnes reveals how their past plays into their present job of FBI profilers and cracking impossible cases. Loved this series and would read love to read more with Cassie and crew solving cases using their gifts!!!

The Prince (A Wicked 3.5 novella) 1001 Dark Nights by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Prince (A Wicked Trilogy, #3.5; 1001 Dark Nights, #85)The Prince by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved prickly, tough Brighton who has mastered fighting the fae after her mother was murdered and she was tortured (Brighton keeps thinking if 0nly she had fought back then, could she have saved her mother) and now is part of The Order, a human who keeps an eye on the summer and winter fae. But behind all of this, Brighton is getting rid of all who attacked her and her mother, one by one. But when the Prince seems to be everywhere she is and trying to keep her from her task, things get really tense. What will happen as she and the Prince begin to work together to uncover the disappearance of foundlings? I can't wait for The King! I just wish I did not have to wait so long, a great series!

A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses 3.1) by Sarah J. Maas

A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3.1)A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this novella so much- Fayre and Rhys were vey busy getting ready for the Winter Solstice which consists of enjoying one another, snowball fight traditions and giving gifts. Since this is Fayre's first Solstice as High Lady she is learning so much and becoming familiar with life at the Manor and renewing her passion for art trying to mend sister relationships and bringing her love with Rhysand to a much deeper level (loved the sex scenes!) I enjoyed learning more about Mor, Cassian, & Azriel (he is such a mystery man). I want to know more about Elaine and Nesta (and their mates) too. There is so much great character development but I think this book is leading into some major drama for the next book and I can't wait!

Death and Night (Star-Touched Queen series) by Roshani Chokshi

Death and Night (The Star-Touched Queen #0.5)Death and Night by Roshani Chokshi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this treat, a novella at the end of Crown of Wishes! Once again, Priya Ayyar awesomely narrated the chance meeting of Death & Night (both destined to be alone) and their attraction to each other despite what the future has foretold. I loved the fact that Gupta re-appeared in this lovely little tale.
