The Zero Night (Jonathan Stride, #11) by Brian Freeman

The Zero Night (Jonathan Stride, #11)The Zero Night by Brian Freeman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so glad the Jonathan Stride series is continuing! Despite all that happened with Jonny and Serena, I rooted for their happiness in tough police work. Maggie has been standing in as Jonathan recovers but she calls him back with a wife's abduction and a lawyer who may be hiding a lot. I loved Serena's dog Elton and the adulation she desperately needed from her furry lifesaver. I could not stop turning the pages, the story captivated me and the suspense was thrilling!

Panic by Sharon Draper

PanicPanic by Sharon M. Draper
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a timely, jarring novel from award winning Novelist, Sharon Draper. Diamond is a dancer in a close knit, Crystal Pointe Dance Studio who is abducted from a mall (a predator dangles the lead in a movie being cast immediately) imprisoned, drugged, raped, and so many more horrors. Another side story is important as well; Layla, also in the troupe is in an abusive relationship. Draper uses convincing characters: shaken dance members, devastated family, girlfriends and boyfriends, are all authentic and realistic. The many ripped from the headlines topics are treated believably providing suspense and caution to teen readers of a world that is scarily real. A must read but not an easy one.

Dead to You by Lisa McMann

Dead to YouDead to You by Lisa McMann
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

OMG I am not really sure about the ending, I can't stop thinking about it, so that makes it all the more compelling. Ethan was abducted when he was 6 years old and 9 years later is reunited with his family; mom, dad, Blake and litle siter, Gracie (who was so cute with her lisp- Efon for Ethan and momsters for monsters- SO CUTE!) He has no memory of his early life and it is not easy going from his life with Eleanor...to a normal family and lots of rules (that resulted after Ethan was abducted) This is a thin book with short chapters, I was succked in and reluctant readers will love this book, but I am still reeling about the ending. You have to read it yourself and decide!
