The Burning Shadow (Origin #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Burning Shadow (Origin, #2)The Burning Shadow by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG I could not stop reading this book!!! Jennifer L. Armentrout's 2nd Origin book was such a heart stopping mystery and thriller---just like all of her books! Evie really doesn't know who she is, her memories of being someone else will just happen and when she and Luc, the Darkest Star Origin get together, there is always anger, passion, questions, and answers that defy description. The ending is OMG, I just can't believe it---if you love urban fantasy and paranormal romance, this book and the series is the BEST! I can't wait for the final book, it is going to kill me...

United As One (Lorien Legacies #7) by Pittacus Lore

United as One (Lorien Legacies, #7)United as One by Pittacus Lore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh did I love this series- listening to all 7 books one right after the other was awesome! I loved all the narrators; the voices kept me rapt with the next daring feats of the Garde. I was happy with the ending but I must admit Setrakus Ra's villainy really wore on me---I wish he wasn't so evil, vile, and reprehensible---it was horrific for me to listen to the awfulness that was him!!! The young teen characters were definitely not the same (saddened me but I understood) but there was a hopeful ending...but everyone still needs to be vigilant---a great great series!!!

The drama continues in this audiobook as the Garde is together in #9's Chicago penthouse. Ten and John are plagued by nightmares invaded by and of Setrákus Ra with lies and prophecies. They also find Number 5 and he does not really fit with John Smith and company. So glad to be listening to this series!!!

The Power of Six (Lorien Legacies #2) by Pittacus Lore

The Power of Six (Lorien Legacies, #2)The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG, I am loving this Lorien series and the narrators are just the BEST!!! John Smith, Friend Sam and their supernatural dog, Bernie Kosar (who can take any kind of animal shape and protects the teens) when they meet the sixth Lorien and she has many VAST & GREAT powers (I love her invisibility best), bands together with John and Sam as they try to keep away from the Mogadorians, find the other teens so they can band together. Marina is the other point of view/chosen Lorien located in Spain, frustrated by her Sapon, Adelina, who has embraced religion and rejected Marina, Marina befriends a new orphan, Ella and follows John Smith's stories on the internet convinced he is just like her and needs her help. I was transfixed with the psychological, physical, and supernatural aspects of each Lorien teen. I can't wait for the next book in the series---I will be listening!!!

An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green

An Absolutely Remarkable ThingAn Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read this science fiction title by the awesome Hank Green for a twitter chat with #YearofYA Tuesday 1/22/19 at 9PM EST, come join us and we will be discussing great scifi reads! This audiobook was narrated awesomely by Kristen Sieh, Hank Green and the story about twenty something April May finding a transformer like sculpture that turns out to be so much more, talks a lot about social media and the effect of fame on a person. I liked the premise---did not really like April May---she became obsessed with fame, started treating her very loyal friends as less than... the Carls just appeared throughout the world but it is April (and best friend, Andy) who documents it and becomes the symbol.

I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore

I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies, #1)I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh did I love Neil Kaplan's stupendous narration of John Smith, resident teen alien trying to remain inconspicuous with his guard/Sapon Henri in Paradise, Ohio. Kaplan did such a great job with all the voices; he really kept me listening and I can't wait to read the other books in the series---will they be as good as this first thriller? I especially loved the dog's character and Sarah, John's love interest.

The Darkest Star (Origin #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Darkest Star (Origin, #1)The Darkest Star by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan-Tor/Forge and Tor Teen for the advance reader copy, The Darkest Star by awesome author, Jennifer L. Armentrout, in exchange for an honest review. I am so happy Jennifer Armentrout is continuing the Lux series (if you have not read, YOU MUST!!!) with a new series, Origin, and The Darkest Star does not disappoint with Luc, an Origin (produced by a Lux and human mating) from the Lux series, who is young, powerful, and scary. Like the Lux, Luc is perfectly handsome, chiseled, and arrogant. But he is cares deeply for his Lux and Origin friends and will stop at nothing to help them. This NEW YA alien series brings back some favorite characters from Lux as the world has returned to normal (if humans accepting Lux as neighbors) and features Evie as a senior going to an underage club that is known to have both Lux and humans in attendance. When Evie meets Luc, he is arrogant and wants her to leave—but when a raid unexpectantly happens, Luc helps her escape—and the rest is oh so good! I could not put this fantasy/scifi book down, Armentrout’s delicious writing is spine tingling with mysteries galore. Teens will love this new series and race to read all other Armentrout books; verdict an epic read with humor and toe-curling romance.
