After Anna by Lisa Scottoline

After AnnaAfter Anna by Lisa Scottoline
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this stand alone book by Lisa Scottoline! Alernately told by Dr. Noah Alderman who is on trial for murdering his step daughter beginning with Day 10 of his trial (and then working backward in time with his wife, Maggie, being contacted by the daughter taken away from her when she was an infant. There was mystery, angst, and lying as well as just not mentioning a lot. I loved their romance and life with Caleb, Noah's son who has a speaking disability. Recommended!

Stronger Than You Know (McKenzies of Ridge Trail #2) by Lori Foster

Stronger Than You Know (McKenzies of Ridge Trail #2)Stronger Than You Know by Lori Foster
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just as I loved the 1st book in this series, No Holding Back; I really enjoyed the relationship Reyes McKenzie and Kennedy Brooks build in this steamy thoroughly enjoyable mystery romance. Kennedy was one trafficked and now tours the country speaking about the horrors of human trafficking and how victims can heal and be stronger after their ordeal. But there are old traffickers that want Kennedy silenced and they will stop at nothing to apprehend her. Reyes knew when Kennedy began working out at his gym that she was hiding something just as Kennedy knew Reyes had secrets too. As they begin to trust one another they begin to learn about other; meeting Reyes family was awesome because I enjoyed these characters from the first book. Foster has once again penned a romance with enough mystery, chemistry, and adventure, I could not stop turning the pages!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so excited about this new series from Lori Foster and can't wait to read the next book in the series as well! Cade is a bar owner by night and in a family business that hunts down traffickers and helps the women and child they free. Sterling is a regular patron at Cade's bar and literally catches up on her sleep after her trucking deliveries. But she is not who she seems either and that has Cade on high alert. As their attraction heightens, they form a bond and begin to work together. There was mystery, adventure, romance galore in this book and I loved Cade's family and the journey of Cade and Star. Another great romantic series by Lori Foster!
